In this second book of the series, Miles Stevenson and David Morrisey pick up where the first book ended. Even though Miles is exonerated, a hefty contract remains on his life. It keeps increasing and yet no one knows precisely who is behind it. Someone with a lot of money and a lot of hate would be the obvious answer.

Miles is hopeful he can resume chasing bad guys since the judge demanded his reinstatement, but the brass just isn’t quite ready. Then tragedy strikes and Miles is forced to relocate his family and go into hiding. David is ever faithful, protecting and aiding him in his search for who is behind the contract and the cold-blooded killer who is actively attempting to execute it.
